eRS-Secure: electronic Registration System  

Introduction:
This document briefly enumerates the main features supported by the e-RS system from the user point of view. The system meets all requirements. It presents a set of user friendly interfaces with different access visibility level and ensures a real-time synchronization of the data dealt with among all system users.
eRS-Secure is secure, reliable, user friendly, and suitable for use by students and university administrative/academic staff with no advanced computing background.

From the student's point of view, the system offers students opportunities to:

  • Apply for admission in designated programs,
  • Add and drop courses,
  • View and print timetables,
  • Check for time, availability and location of courses,
  • View course info and descriptions,
  • View course grades,
  • View course attendance,
  • Check and display academic standing,
  • Check and display grade point average and transcripts,
  • View and download specific university forms,
  • View university calendars,
  • View and not update student's information,
  • View status of all courses,
  • View and display student account summary.
From the administrator's point of view, the system offers staff (and to a lesser degree faculty member) opportunities to:
  • View, update and modify student information;
  • Add new students;
  • Remove existing students;
  • Monitor entrance/placement exam results;
  • Generate admission/registration documents/letters;
  • Add new courses;
  • Modify existing courses;
  • Add and drop courses;
  • Generate student and faculty class schedules;
  • View list of instructors;
  • Generate course lists for instructors;
  • Perform degree and graduation audits;
  • Generate study plans;
  • View enrollment summary reports;
  • View student fees status,
  • Assign rooms to classes;
  • Keep track of time, rooms, instructors, units, credit codes, etc..;
  • Produce schedule of classes;
  • Maintain room and facility information;
  • Accommodate special schedules (Ramadan schedule for example);
  • Keep track of student attendance;
  • Accommodate University course management policy;
  • Access and display class rosters;
  • View course catalogues;
  • Generate institutional transcripts.
